The Maersk ship 'Clifford' was stationary when it was collided with by an ONE container ship

Over the weekend, a minor incident occurred in Hong Kong involving two large container ships, one of which was from A.P. Moller-Maersk.

The two ships involved in the collision were operated by Ocean Network Express (ONE) and Maersk.

The Maersk ship was stationary when it was collided with. Four empty containers on board the Maersk vessel were pushed into the harbor, but all of them have since been recovered.

According to reports from TradeWinds, the collision resulted in minor damage to the Maersk vessel.

The incident took place at Kwai Tsing Container Terminal, one of the busiest terminals in Hong Kong, which is a key hub for global shipping.

Although the damage was considered minor, there were significant consequences as three containers were thrown overboard and fell into the water.

A spokesperson for Maersk stated that an inspection was immediately initiated to assess the damage and ensure that the vessel could continue its journey without further issues.

After the inspection, it was confirmed that the ship was able to leave Hong Kong port on March 2, indicating that the damage was not severe enough to require extensive repairs.
