The reliable operation of internal combustion engines is challenged by the complexity of running on dual fuels. When components fail, the reliability is compromised, and it becomes essential to understand why they failed. That’s where our “metals detectives” come in - a team of metallurgists and technicians who specialize in conducting thorough Root Cause Analyses (RCA). Do you have experience with material technology? Do you have experience with RCA?  Are you skilled in RCA? Can you see yourself joining our team of metals detectives? Then this might be the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

At Everllence we transform cutting-edge technology into solutions that play a vital role in decarbonizing the world. We are the global market leader of energy efficient and fuel flexible large marine engine systems. We aim for creating engineering systems for deep decarbonization. This requires innovation, creativity, and skills – which is why we’re looking for a new colleague with interests and experience in materials and RCA.

You will play an important role in:
Finding the right solutions for the hottest components in our engines. You will be working closely with specialists within your team and across other R&D departments. You will be part of a team of 10 metallurgists and technicians working in a modern lab with all the equipment needed to do metallography, microscopy, spectroscopy, heat treatment and mechanical testing.

Your task will include:

  • Conduct failure analyses of components from marine engines in service and incorporating the obtained results into component improvements.
  • Providing support to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., engine builders and suppliers).
  • Qualifying suppliers of components for large two-stroke marine engines.

We imagine that you:
Are self-driven with an analytic approach and with the ability to present metallurgical tests results to a wide range of stakeholders. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll collaborate with other R&D teams, Engine Support Teams, and Engineering Design Teams. Within your own team, we hope you’ll take an active part in nurturing the social environment with your colleagues.

Furthermore, we imagine that you:

  • Hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in materials or mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Are either newly graduated or have a few years of relevant experience.
  • Know your way around a metallurgical lab.

Additionally, it will be an advantage if you:

  • Have experience with RCA of metallic components.
  • Have experience with microscopical techniques like LOM and SEM.

Welcome to Material Technology
You will join a team of 10 dedicated colleagues based at Everllence's Danish headquarters in the South Harbor of Copenhagen. The team is diverse in both gender, ethnicity and age which forms a strong and flexible unit. We maintain an open and respectful tone, and our company language is English. We respect each other, we help each other, we inspire each other, and we share knowledge to ensure a continuous development of the team.

We are a support function responsible for developing new material solutions for our engines. We collaborate across the organization with other R&D teams, Engineering Design teams and Engine Support teams regarding material selection, failure analysis and vendor approval.

We need to expand this support function and the group of metal detectives to ensure that our engines continue to run reliable in the future and to reach our goals for decarbonization.

You will be working in a team having a modern metallurgical laboratory with advanced equipment like scanning electron microscope, micro hardness testers and optical emission spectrometer. The lab is constantly adapted to the tasks to be solved, and new laboratory equipment is acquired when needed.

Unleash your potential: Join us towards a carbon-neutral future
At Everllence, we offer you the chance to shape the future where you can create, drive, build, and be a part of improving innovative energy solutions, while achieving your personal career goals. We prioritize work-life balance with flexible working hours, remote work options, and over 7 weeks of paid time off.

We foster a creative and inclusive culture, emphasizing diversity and equality. We are dedicated to our employees' well-being, offering opportunities to join various social activity clubs, ranging from yoga and fishing to creative clubs.

In 2027, we will consolidate our Zealand locations into one large site in Trekroner, Roskilde.
