Maersk captain focused on pushing machinery to the limit

A small handful of Maersk captains are currently gaining valuable operational experience with methanol propulsion 'in the real world'. So far, there have been several surprises, according to Thomas Hvilborg

As the captain of 'Antonia Maersk,' Captain Thomas Hvilborg is on a mission: to operate on methanol as much as possible.

- We're obviously interested in collecting as much operational experience as possible with methanol as a fuel. Both the shipping company as a whole and the crew on board need to get smarter. It's an incredibly exciting task, Thomas Hvilborg explains to Søfart.
