The commercial port in Rødvig is - as previously described by Søfart - in dire straits after the October storm surge which devastated the harbor and particularly took a toll on the fishing port.
Kristian H. Olsen, chairman of the fishing port in Rødvig, has no estimate of the extent of the damages, nor any idea how the small commercial port will finance the storm surge catastrophe. The disaster partially demolished the mole structure leading to the fishing port, washed away the quay and swept 15 red fishing houses away. It also submerged 29 pleasure boats and cutters while washing even more ashore.
