Technical Product Compliance Specialist - Green Instruments

On behalf of Green Instruments, MARPRO is looking for a Technical Product Compliance Specialist to join their Technology team. This is a key role where you will be responsible for ensuring that products meet all relevant regulatory requirements and standards, including approvals from classification societies and notified bodies.
You will act as the central link between regulatory requirements and product development, ensuring compliance is built into products from the earliest stages. With a high degree of ownership, you will drive approvals, maintain certifications, and continuously improve compliance processes.

Key responsibilities
Product approvals and certifications
- Drive applications for new product type approvals
- Plan, coordinate, and execute approval processes with classification societies and notified bodies
- Develop and maintain a clear and cost-efficient approval strategy
- Identify opportunities for rationalization and optimization of certifications
- Design test plans and prepare test reports
Maintenance of approvals
- Establish and maintain a structured overview of all certifications
- Ensure continuous updates, renewals, and re-certifications
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact
- Perform gap analyses and coordinate internal and external testing activities
Stakeholder communication
- Act as the primary contact for classification societies (e.g. DNV, BV, LR) and notified bodies
- Manage audits, technical reviews, and compliance-related inquiries
- Support internal stakeholders across Sales, Service, and Engineering
Product development support
- Act as a compliance sparring partner to product development teams
- Translate regulatory requirements into concrete product specifications
- Support development of test plans and validation processes
- Support product innovation activities from a regulatory perspective
EX / ATEX / IECEx
- Ensure understanding and application of EX-related requirements
- Support correct documentation and implementation of EX concepts
- Contribute technical input to design and approval processes
Continuous improvement
- Develop and improve processes within product compliance
- Strengthen documentation structure and compliance workflows
Professional qualifications
- A relevant technical education
- Experience with product compliance in a maritime or technical environment
- Proven experience working with classification societies
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to interpret detailed specifications
- Documented experience with approvals, certifications, or regulatory processes
- Experience with ATEX/IECEx/EX requirements is not mandatory but considered a strong advantage
