Technical Project Manager – Rohde Nielsen

On behalf of Rohde Nielsen, MARPRO Group is looking for a Technical Project Manager for the office in Copenhagen. You will report to the management team of the company.

Rohde Nielsen runs a modern fleet of more than 45+ specially built, versatile, and highly specialized vessels, operating globally.

The job

As Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing newbuilding, retrofit, and conversion projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring that each project is executed in line with technical specifications, timelines, and budget constraints. A key part of the role involves hands-on engagement with shipyards, including a high level of international travel for inspections, supervision, and ongoing project follow-up.

You will work closely with colleagues in the Marine Projects team while also collaborating across technical and commercial departments to ensure alignment and smooth execution. In this capacity, you will manage the technical aspects of projects, act as the main point of contact towards shipyards and external partners and carry out on-site supervision globally. You will review and approve technical drawings and documentation, ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and contractual obligations, and prepare technical procedures, manuals, and supporting documentation. You will also provide technical support to internal stakeholders across projects.

The role requires a broad technical overview rather than deep specialization, as you will work closely with designers, suppliers, and classification societies. However, it is essential that you can critically assess designs, systems, and constructions to ensure quality, compliance, and that the delivered solutions meet expectations.

Professional qualifications

• Relevant technical education such as Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, or similar
• Experience of shipyards or marine projects, both technically and contractually
• Experience with newbuildings, retrofits, and conversions
• Good understanding of ship design, systems, and construction principles
• Proficient in English
• Valid permission to work in Europe
