Marine HSE Supervisor

The job
You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals managing the Marine Operations for the Fehmarnbelt Project. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that construction and operational activities on vessels, barges, and related assets are conducted safely and in full compliance with Fehmarnbelt and the Main Contractors’ health, safety, and environment (HSE) management policies, procedures, statutory regulations, and guidelines.
In your daily tasks and duties, you will work closely with your colleagues in the Marine Operations Team and report to the Marine HSE Specialist, with an organizational reference to the Head of Marine Operations. As part of the Marine Team, you will serve as a Target Zero ambassador, actively promoting a strong safety culture within both our- and the Contractors’ organizations. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of various HSE initiatives and campaigns.
Your primary workplace will be in Rødbyhavn, with occasional travel to Copenhagen and Fehmarn.
Your key tasks will include:
- Monitor the Main Contractors’ marine HSE related activities, i.e. safety inspections, meetings, risk workshops, audits, safety inductions, toolbox meetings, kick-off, in close collaboration with contrators HSE staff and Femern HSE specialists, meetings and mobilizations, etc. via active participation.
- Assist in reviewing the Main Contractors’ method statements for the design and construction tasks and monitor that these are implemented and complied with.
- Assist with input to the overall monthly reporting on marine HSE issues internally in Femern A/S.
- Participate in investigation of incidents/accidents/near misses together with the main Contractor, securing that the lessons learned are captured and contribute to planning of improvement activities.
- Assist and handle in the communication and collaboration with relevant maritime and HSE authorities, in collaboration with Marine Operations Manager – Marine HSE Specialist
- Maintain a close contact with Main Contractors’ HSE organizations for handling any marine HSE issues effectively.
Your profile
- You have a relevant educational or professional background, such as Master Mariner, Marine Superintendent, ChiefOfficer/Marine Engineer, Engineer, or HSE Specialist with marine experience.
- Our common working language is English, so excellent and timely communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
- You bring relevant experience related to marine operations, preferably gained from large marine / offshore construction projects involving contractors and complex roles and responsibilities. Additionally, you have knowledge of working environment legislation, ideally with a marine focus.
- You are naturally confident, resilient, and pragmatic, with strong team-player qualities that foster collaboration and strengthen teamwork.
