Department manager – Engine product development

Drive decarbonization of the maritime industry in a role with global reach
We are looking for an engaged and collaborative manager for a newly established “engine product development” department in 2-stroke R&D. The maritime industry is transforming – it is accountable for around 3% of global CO2 emissions and at Everllence we have the opportunity to address the majority of this – that’s why our company vision is “moving big things to zero”. This management role will be pivotal in addressing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as harmful emissions from shipping.
You will play an important role in:
- Managing a team of 10-12 Engineers, some of whom are travelling 60-90 days
- Being end-to-end responsible for the team engine product portfolio
- Guiding the team in developing engine process/performance solutions
- Securing a great working environment for the team and nourishing the development of the team members
- Securing alignment across the organization on priorities
- Securing continued implementation and development of processes & tools.
We imagine that you:
- You have an engineering background and experience in the maritime ecosystem `
- Preferably, you know about 2-stroke engines, their application in vessels, and the demands from customers
- You can support and guide your team members and provide the necessary structures, but you do not have to be an engine performance expert
- You are a leader by example who allows team members to flourish and grow, and who naturally inspires your team to work in fruitful collaboration with other teams
- You are curious and passionate about continuously improving solutions around you, and ambitious about the impact the department can have
- Not least, you are not afraid of challenging the status quo, even if it sometimes means difficult conversation
What can you expect from us:
You will be part of the leadership team in ”Engine process development (EDF)” - 2-stroke R&D. EDF is responsible for our engine portfolio, Engine R&D, and Emission & Performance of our engines. The team is very dedicated, open, and collaborative, and we welcome diversity of thought (e.g., close to 50% non-Danes)
Besides this, we offer:
- A job opportunity that has a very significant impact on reducing global CO2 emissions and emissions of harmful substances
- Working together with the best in class, being part of the Everllence 2-stroke R&D leadership community
- Great development opportunities and international exposure both within and outside the company.
