Unifeeder A/S - Shortsea is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Sales Director – West to lead our sales team in Rotterdam and drive growth in the Shortsea Region West.
Working in Shortsea Sales at Unifeeder
As Sales Director, West in Shortsea Sales (primary market in Benelux and Germany), you will be responsible for ensuring close relationships with new as well as existing customers at any given time. Moreover, you will lead the Region West sales for Shortsea SME customers, drive a hunting culture in the local sales office(s), and grow the customer portfolio mainly through business acquisition.
In this role, you will focus on driving business development and enhancing our customer-focused culture. You will plan and conduct customer meetings, negotiate contracts, and ensure a seamless handover to the Customer Service team.
Collaboration with internal stakeholders is essential including Corporate Sales, alongside keeping the CRM updated and preparing sales reports. Additionally, you will participate in market mapping and attend relevant conferences as needed.
This position is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and we are seeking candidates who are already based in the Netherlands. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of other European languages, such as Dutch, is a plus but not required. International travel is to be expected, why flexibility is a must.

Key responsibilities
- Commercial ownership: Take full commercial ownership of the Region West SME customer segment, with a strong emphasis on growing and retaining business with both new and existing key customers. Drive initiatives that align with company goals to expand market presence and customer loyalty.
- Trusted advisor: Establish yourself as the go-to trusted advisor for customers, building and maintaining long-term relationships. Understand customer needs deeply and provide tailored solutions that enhance their experience and satisfaction.
- Sales pipeline management: Ensure a robust and healthy sales pipeline within your area of responsibility. Actively manage opportunities and share leads with colleagues when they fall outside your scope, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Contract negotiation: Design, negotiate, and finalize profitable contracts that meet both customer and company objectives. Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
Organizational representation: Represent Unifeeder with integrity and professionalism, serving as a role model for the organization. Uphold the company's values and demonstrate ethical behavior in all business interactions.
Who are you?
You bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in a commercially oriented sales leadership role with an international scope. Experience in logistics and/or freight forwarding is advantageous but not essential.
Furthermore, we expect you to have:
- A proven track record with a strong focus on customer needs and value-based selling.
- Strong skills in negotiation and decision-making, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A positive and motivated attitude, with flexibility in solving problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently while being a proactive team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Proficiency in English at a negotiation level, both spoken and written.
