As a shipping trainee at Leth Danish Straits, the door to an exciting international shipping career is open. We offer you an apprenticeship, where you will become part of strong team where we both work hard to fulfill our customers’ requests and at the same time enjoy an informal family-like work atmosphere while you get to learn from some of the best people within our niche of the shipping industry.

It is a two-year apprenticeship where you will be part of Danish Shipping´s “Commercial Shipping program” and you will interchange between on-the-job-training and classroom modules with trainees from other shipping companies.

Most of the time you will be working from our office, located in the heart of The Blue Denmark in Amaliegade 33, Copenhagen.

Who are you?
We are looking for a trainee who is eager to learn about the many areas of shipping from an agent’s point of view. You are an efficient, meticulous, and humorous person who will enjoy working in an international shipping environment and complete every task neatly and timely. You like to be challenged daily and providing the customers a high-level service is part of your DNA.

Some of the responsibilities will be

• Maintaining the overview of the ship's operations.
• Organizing and coordinating transits and port calls.
• Being part of the 24/7 on call duty team.
• Monitoring of information in Leth Danish Straits’ relevant markets.
• Meeting customers both on a business as well as on a social level.
• Maintaining daily contact with local representatives.
• Travelling to visit customers and representatives.

Personal skills

• Service-minded and interested in communicating with customers both written as well as verbally.
• Interested in planning, reliable and structured.
• Can work under pressure.
• Good at collaboration.
• Familiar with IT especially the MS Office package.
• Willing to commence on a journey where you will be challenged daily and learn from some of the best in the industry.
• You have completed HHX / STX or similar relevant education.

Personal characteristic
You are a team-player, and you are genuinely interested in the international shipping business. You can work hard but you also enjoy social events with your colleagues and business relations.
