Emerson have recently bought a large stake into Aalborg based Frugal Technologies. Frugal Technologies, delivers an automated on-top system optimizing RMP and pitch, using AI technology. Frugal Technologies new AI-based frugal propulsion technology is set to transform the shipping industry by allowing automated fuel and CO2 savings - up to 15%.

 

The Job

The purpose of this role, working out of the Frugal Office in Aalborg, is to become a key player of the integration between Frugal Technologies and Emerson. The role is a hybrid between project management/hands-on commissioning. Initially it will require more travelling, ensuring you gain full knowledge of the installation and commissioning process of Frugal Technologies product and services. As you gain confidence in the product and services, it will transform more into project management, training, and development of service/commissioning engineer on a global scale.

This position reports to the Manager, Life Cycle Service EU

 

Professional competencies

  • A relevant education, e.g. degree in Marine Engineering, Project Management or a related field.
  • Proven sailing experience
  • Experience as Service Engineer, Marine Engineer, Technical Superintendent or similar working experience
  • Project Management experience from the maritime industry
  • Training experience, delivering technical training programs
  • Solid technical background with understanding or hands-on experience in marine systems and installations/commissioning
  • Understanding of propulsion, power generation and auxiliary engines, control systems and PLC systems is highly beneficial

  • Team player, understanding you’re a part of a global organization that works across borders
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and multitasking capabilities
  • Strong work ethics and able to work independently
  • Able to travel 40-60 days per year
