The Job

As a product expert in the performance team, your role involves deep understanding of the technical intricacies of the product in vessel performance modelling and analytics. You will collaborate with development teams to provide subject matter expertise, guide feature implementation, and ensure alignment with overall product roadmap. Continued, you will act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into understandable insights. The role requires that you stay updated on industry trends, assess emerging technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Performance products. You will also be expected to conduct training sessions and support customer-facing teams with technical insights.

The position can be located at one of NAVTOR's offices in Europe.

As a Product Expert, you will work both in team and individually, to take new features from concept to reality.

Your responsibilities will include:

Own and Develop Performance Modelling:

• Take ownership of maintaining and developing NAVTOR’s vessel performance modelling, driving innovation and accuracy in vessel performance predictions and scenarios analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into our software solutions.

Vessel Models Development and Maintenance:

• Source, develop, and maintain vessel performance modelling methodologies, ensuring high level accuracy in modelling different scenarios and forecasts.
• Continuously improve and update vessel models dynamically to reflect actual in-service performance, ideal performance and prediction of future performance for voyage and long term scenario planning.

Voyage Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth voyage analyses, providing actionable insights for optimizing operational efficiency.

Fuel Tables:

• Develop and maintain dynamic fuel tables, incorporating real-time data and industry benchmarks.

Charter Party Monitoring:

• Monitor charter party agreements, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for optimization.

Crew Dashboard + R&A:

• Collaborate with the development team to create comprehensive crew dashboards, including reporting quality and performance analytics.
• Hull Performance Analytics and Decision Support models:
• Maintain and develop methods for analyzing hull fouling and decision support models for evaluating actions, effectiveness of cleanings and performance of different paint systems applied.
• Maintain and develop analysis and visualization within the platform proving the customer with actionable insight to understand the hull and propeller performance.
• Keep up to date with latest industry development and ISO standards.
• Engine Performance Analytics and Decision Support models:
• Maintain and develop modelling methods for analysing engine performance using all available data points from manual reporting and sensor data.
• Maintain and develop analysis and visualization within the platform proving the customer with actionable insight to understand the deviations, root cause and actions to be taken.
• Keep up to date with latest industry development and ISO standards.

Scorecards and KPI Development Reports and Analytics:

• Develop performance scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing a holistic view of vessel efficiency and data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture or a related field.
• Proven experience in performance modelling and analytics within the maritime industry.
• In-depth knowledge of vessel design, propulsion systems, and naval architecture principles.
• Familiarity with software tools used in naval architecture and performance modelling.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
