NAVTOR is now seeking a Product Expert to join our team!


The Job

As a product expert in the performance team, your role involves deep understanding of the technical intricacies of the product in reporting and validation. You will collaborate with development teams to provide subject matter expertise, guide feature implementation, and ensure alignment with overall product roadmap. Continued, you will act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into understandable insights. The role requires that you stay updated on industry trends, assess emerging technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Performance products. You will be expected to conduct training sessions and support customer-facing teams with technical insights.

The position can be located at one of NAVTOR's offices in Europe.

As a Product Expert, you will work both in team and individually, to take new features from concept to reality.


Your responsibilities will include:

Product Analysis and Reporting:

  • Ensure that the reporting platform and reporting schemes are up-to-date and adhering to the regulatory requirements with focus on EU and IMO.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze the product's status in terms of velocity and performance.
  • Prepare a protocol in which stakeholders will be up-to-date with the product’s status anytime using all available tools provided (Azure, Confluence, etc.)


Technical Expertise:

  • Serve as the product specialist, possessing in-depth knowledge of external and regulatory requirements within the field of vessel performance and emission reporting.
  • Deliver detailed specifications, testing and acceptance criteria for product features.


Customer Support:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical queries from both Technical Support, Customer Success and Customer Service teams.
  • Provide timely and effective resolutions to technical issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Issue Triage and Backlog Management:
  • Participate actively in the triage process for identified issues.
  • Contribute to day-to-day control of backlog and sprint planning, aligning efforts.
  • Maintain & Develop Reporting Standard and Report Schemes:
  • Take ownership of maintaining and evolving reporting standards, including the addition of more vessel types configurations.
  • Develop and manage report schemes, ensuring flexibility and accuracy.
  • Stay abreast of emission reporting regulations such as IMO DCS, EU/UK MRV, FuelEU Maritime, Poseidon Principles, and others.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory developments from the EU/IMO, including CII, EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime.


Develop and Maintain Validation Rules:

  • Work closely with operational teams to develop and maintain validation rules based on operational feedback.
  • Implement rules that enhance data accuracy and reliability.
  • Drive the enhancement of the Data Validation App, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our clients.
  • Collaborate with the development team to implement new features and functionalities.
  • Facilitate the seamless integration of the Data Validation App into our platform, enhancing overall data validation capabilities.
  • Establish data quality metrics and benchmarks, providing insights into data accuracy and reliability.
  • Visualize data quality metrics for easy interpretation by end-users.



  • A strong background in marine engineering or a related field.
  • Thorough understanding of product management
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information and specifications to adequate stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in market analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
