With a legacy of excellence, MAN Energy Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader as “Head of 2 stroke Technical service” in Copenhagen.

The reason for this search is that we have “exported” our current leader successfully into another interesting position at MAN.
You will be head of a strong team, of approx. 40 Technical Advisors and Superintendent Engineers, that is collaborating with our global organization to the benefit of our customers. The aim is relentlessly to foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
As the Leader of this department, you will play a pivotal role in achieving MAN’s climate ambitions for the current fleet in terms of:

  • Service on existing fleet
  • Retrofit solutions on existing products
  • Preparing after sales activities for upcoming new products

You will play an important role in:

As Head of Technical Service 2-Stroke, you will:

  • Provide visionary leadership to a diverse team, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Oversee personnel management activities, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to develop and execute a comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives.
  • Work closely with other departments and foster a culture of collaboration and open communication across the organization.
  • Hereby develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal departments (On-Site recovery, Retrofit, International Group Companies (IGCs) & HR), industry associations and customers.
  • Utilize your comprehensive understanding of the maritime industry's commercial landscape, market trends, and regulatory developments to drive After Sales activities from strategic decision-making into execution.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support the development of long-term business plans
  • Lead negotiations with customers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Address conflicts and challenges proactively, finding effective and diplomatic solutions

We imagine that you:
This position requires a strategic and proactive thinker with a profound understanding of technical and commercial dynamics when large repair, rebuild or service takes place.
You have most likely experience from the maritime industry, and the ability to navigate in a complex environment of internal and external stakeholders.
We expect further that you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Maritime Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years proven experience in a leadership role within the maritime industry, with a focus on stakeholder management
  • Strong understanding of commercial dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in personnel leadership and management, including recruitment, performance management, and team development.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills verbally as well as in written form. (English)

Welcome to Technical Service Denmark Department (SMDTT)
In the department, you will face strongly dedicated colleagues, who are doing their utmost to share knowledge with each other.
As for now, we have the following areas defined in the department. 

  • 24/7 Team (Emergency calls and Ticket answering)
  • Large Repair (Typically 1,5-2 mill euro repairs)
  • Tickets administration (Technical request from IGC’s and customers)
  • Travel Coordination
  • Specialists (Various engine/fuel types)
  • Super Intendent (Travelling personal)
