Maritime Hub Manager to increase maritime activities at IT University of Copenhagen
For the newly established Maritime Hub at the IT University of Copenhagen (ITU), applicants are invited for a position as Maritime Hub Manager to increase the awareness of the maritime field among ITU’s students and faculty and spawn collaboration activities. The position starts on 1 January 2024 and is full-time and permanent.
Job description
Maritime transportation is environmentally friendly and prioritized by the European Union. Denmark’s maritime industry is world-leading and has a high demand for advanced IT.
To bridge the Maritime Industry with researchers and students with computer science disciplines at ITU, a Maritime Hub has just been established with the purpose of creating collaboration activities and increasing awareness of the maritime field at ITU.
As Maritime Hub Manager you will:
- be the main driver of the development of the Maritime Hub in close strategic collaboration with Hub leader Rune Møller Jensen.
- build relationships between students and researchers at ITU with actors in the Danish maritime industry and vice versa.
- identify opportunities for collaboration projects benefitting both the maritime industry, researchers, and students.
- realize projects and other activities through network building and people-oriented efforts including visits, events, and matchmaking.
- proactively communicate news on media like LinkedIn and in the press in collaboration with ITU’s communication department.
- maintain the Maritime Hub community webpage and generate content.
Profile
It is an advantage if the candidate enjoys engaging with people and driving projects. We expect the candidate to have some industrial experience, and to be skilled in Danish and English communication.
The position further requires a deep understanding of information technology as achieved by a computer science degree or similar.
The ideal candidate
- has a high personal drive and entrepreneurial nature with ability to identify cross industry-academia opportunities and suggest relevant activities.
- is proactive, good at building and in maintaining relationships.
- is fascinated by large logistics operations and can understand them (experience with the maritime field is an advantage but not required).
- can analyze complex IT challenges and match competencies at ITU.
- has a good understanding of industry organizations and know how to communicate professionally with different management layers.
- is experienced with the Danish university organization and decision making.

Salary
Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Taxations agreement with the relevant professional association.
It will be possible to negotiate individual allowances depending on your qualifications.
