Mission
RINA is currently recruiting for a Fire & Safety and/or Stability Senior Engineer/Expert.
This position is based Denmark, preferabilly at Hellerup or eventually with possibility of home office.
Job Responsibilities
For this role, in the field of Fire & Safety and/or Stability, you will be responsible for:
- Perform detailed marine engineering plan review, in compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions and contractual requirements In some cases, ensure that reviews of novel aspect designs, falling outside the plan approval field of competence, are of the highest quality, using the most appropriate technical tools and procedures, and in compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions and contractual requirements.
- Resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards
- Perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements
- Oversee and manage day-to-day project elements, visit sites to take measurements
- Ensure correct and up-to-date data is used and complete documentation is submitted to officials and other day-to-day duties
- Review the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.)
- Review progress reports and take appropriate action to ensure requirements are met
- Take ownership and responsibility over the financial progress of assigned tasks.
- Understand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager, serve as reference for the escalation of issues.
- Manage simple and complex projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques.
You may be required to take part in negotiations, meetings with shipyards, Manufacturers, flag administration and clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in a naval engineering or related field; a lower level of qualification is acceptable if there is a considerable work experience and / or professional skills )
- Proficiency in English, fluent in Danish of advantage
- In depth knowledge of Marine & Offshore Fire Protection Products and Safety Legislation for a variety of ship types and offshore facilities or in depth knowledge of Marine & Offshore Stability Legislation for a variety of ship types and offshore facilities.
- Experience with PAX and RO RO PAX will be of advantage
- 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience
