Safety & Stability surveyor– advise the shipping industry on marine constructions

Do you have a marine background, and would you like to join one of the world’s leading classification societies?
This is your chance to build your knowledge along with a team of experts that provide the major shipping companies with help on technical matters related to all aspects of their operations.

More specifically, you:

  • Review of Safety related drawings of marine constructions and equipment, review stability documentation according to the applicable Class Rules, Statutory Regulations
  • Answer question from clients, help Customer Support Center/Ships in Service department with urgent matter, close comments based on client replies and assist clients in understanding comments
  • Continuous development of the level of technical content and experience on which the professional judgement is based

Become an expert on maritime rules
You mainly advise our customers, review of drawings of marine constructions and equipment according to the applicable Class Rules and Statutory Regulations. Quickly, you become an expert on these, and as new rules and regulations are developed, you familiarize yourself with them and continuously develop.

Solid experience within the marine industry
To succeed in this position, you thrive in a setting where the customers set the agenda. This means that your focus may shift quickly.

  • You hold an education MSc or BSc in Naval Architecture, preferable experience from a regulatory, yard or design environment
  • You have experience working with statutory matters, ship stability, Fire & Safety related issues. Experience with passenger ships is a bonus.
  • You are used to working with IT – we use Office365 and databases
  • You speak and write fluent English and at least one of the Scandinavian languages
