Now comes the next phase of the Navy plan

At a press conference later today, the government will announce a new agreement on the Navy’s large-scale rearmament plan

Fleet vessels will be built at Danish shipyards for just over 3.6 billion kroner.

In addition, a development project involving various types of maritime drones will be launched, costing just over 300 million kroner.

Finally, it is stated that a significantly larger agreement on the construction of bigger warships must be concluded before July 1st.

This is according to information from TV2 News, which has gained access to parts of the upcoming major political agreement on the Navy’s rearmament.

With the yet-to-be-published agreement, the government and the defence agreement parties have apparently agreed that 26 smaller ships are to be built at Danish shipyards. These include 21 vessels for the Naval Home Guard, 4 marine environmental protection ships, and one vessel for monitoring underwater sea cables.

The opposition has pushed for frigates and Arctic patrol ships to also be built in Denmark. So far, however, this has only resulted in a statement that it is a “political ambition,” but the government has not committed to domestic production.
