Kystens Næringsliv reports that the Norwegian bunker supplier Haltbakk Bunkers has decided to stop all fuel sales to American military vessels and land forces in Norway.
The decision comes as a reaction to a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which took place on February 28.
Gunnar Gran, owner and CEO of Haltbakk Group, states that the boycott is a moral support for Ukraine and a consequence of the U.S.'s behavior toward the Ukrainians. The company estimates that the boycott will affect deliveries of about 3 million liters of fuel annually, with a value of approximately 40 million Norwegian kroner.
- As you can probably guess, no fuel will be delivered until Trump is gone, Gran says to Kystens Næringsliv.
He adds that Haltbakk Bunkers has a moral compass guiding their decisions and that they will not compromise their values.
Gran hopes other companies will follow their example and take similar steps to show support for Ukraine.
