Oslo boat's exit leads to layoffs in Frederikshavn

The decision to bypass Frederikshavn as a stopover between Copenhagen and Oslo causes a major logistics company to scale back

In the future, the Oslo ferry will no longer stop at Frederikshavn, which will impact the local Blue Water office.

In fact, the forwarding agent will lay off nine employees in Frederikshavn. These nine employees are all terminal workers who handle cargo in connection with the Oslo ferry's arrivals.

This was reported by Blue Water's press department in an email to SCMNews.

- As a consequence of the cessation of the Oslo route's arrivals in Frederikshavn, we have terminated the nine part-time employees working with this activity by the end of March. We are naturally saddened by the situation, as the employees have delivered good performance, the email stated.
