New owner plans reduced operation of Oslo ferry

Both Oslo ferries are set to undergo major renovation under the new Swedish owner

It's soon a new era for the Oslo ferry 'Pearl Seaways,' which after the New Year is scheduled to stay in dry dock.

And while she's there, the new owner, Gotlandsbolaget, will take the opportunity to renovate the ferry's 702 cabins to a level that will optimize the customer experience on board.

And with one ferry in the dock, it means fewer departures between Oslo, Frederikshavn, and Copenhagen.

This is confirmed by the communications manager at Gotlandsbolaget, Karin Bill, in a written response to Søfart.

- We will sail every other day while we have a ship in dry dock, the shipping company briefly states.
