The deteriorating geopolitical situation is the reason why the Swedish ferry company Stena Line is now closing the ferry route between Nynäshamn in Sweden and Hanko in Finland.
The direct cause for Stena Line closing the route is declining freight volumes. However, the underlying reason is the deteriorating geopolitical situation following Russia's invasion of Ukraine which has undermined freight traffic on the Nynäshamn-Hanko route in Finland. Stena Line announced this in a press release.
