CASE STUDY: Optimising Incineration Technology for Navigator Gas’ New Liquefied Ethylene Gas Carrier
At Atlas Incinerators, we are dedicated to providing efficient and cost-effective waste management solutions for the maritime industry. When Navigator Gas commissioned new 48,000 m³ liquefied ethylene gas (LEG) carriers at Jiangnan Shipyard, we saw an opportunity to innovate.
The Challenge: Simplifying design and reducing costs. The initial specifications included a heated oil residue tank with an extraction fan. Our X10 incinerator, capable of handling oil residues with up to 50% water content, eliminated the need for these components, offering a more efficient and low-maintenance solution.
Our Solution: We collaborated with Navigator Gas’ technical team to highlight the benefits of our design:
No extraction fan required, reducing complexity and maintenance.
No heated oil residue tank needed, lowering energy consumption.
A streamlined design that optimises vessel operations.
Following a successful technical meeting, Navigator Gas supported our design in discussions with the shipyard, leading to an order for the first four vessels. We are now working on a G&O frame agreement with Navigator Gas, strengthening our collaboration for future projects.
At Atlas Incinerators, we continue to challenge traditional approaches, providing smart, sustainable solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
