Rohde Nielsen has recently completed the final work for the Baltic Pipe Project, which for Rohde Nielsen involved the pipeline section between the east coast of Denmark and the northern coast of Poland. We are very proud to have contributed to this project, with the purpose of strengthening the European internal energy market.

Rohde Nielsen was awarded, as Saipem’s Subcontractor, a significant contract with multiple scopes including boulder clearance of more than 1.000 boulders, trench dredging of approximately 1.000.000 m3 in a trench length summarizing 50+ km, which was also backfilled by Rohde Nielsen upon completed pipelay.
For Rohde Nielsen, the project also comprised a substantial scope related to the pipe-pull operation in both Denmark and Poland, including dredging the microtunnel exit pit, recovery of the tunnel boring machine, installation of bellmouth and end-cap and wirelay of pullwire. Rohde Nielsen also installed 800t winch capacity in both Denmark and Poland and performed the pipe-pull operation at both sites.

Our units Grane R, Heimdal R, Toste R, Tjalfe R, Mjølner R, Gungner R, Skinfaxe R, Rimfaxe R, and a number of CTVs and survey vessels, executed the job impeccably.
